Embedded emissions (CBAM)
Also called: embedded emissions · specific embedded emissions
The greenhouse gas emissions released during the production of goods covered by CBAM, including, depending on the sector, emissions from producing input materials. They are calculated per tonne of product using actual installation data or default values set by the Commission.
In practice
Actual emission data from producers usually gives a lower CBAM cost than default values, so importers should obtain it from suppliers.
