CE marking

Also called: CE işareti

A mark affixed by the manufacturer to declare that a product meets applicable EU harmonisation legislation, such as rules for machinery, electrical equipment or toys, after the relevant conformity assessment. It is required for placing such products on the EU market and, through the customs union, the Turkish market.

In practice

Customs and market surveillance authorities can stop goods without CE marking or with incomplete documentation, so importers must check it before shipment.
