EU Deforestation Regulation
Also called: EUDR · Regulation (EU) 2023/1115
The EU regulation that requires operators placing certain commodities, such as cattle, cocoa, coffee, oil palm, rubber, soya and wood, and listed derived products on the EU market or exporting them to show that they are deforestation-free and legally produced. Operators must submit a due diligence statement, whose reference is linked to the customs declaration. Its application date was postponed more than once, so the current timetable must be checked.
In practice
Importers of covered products need geolocation data from their supply chain well before the obligations apply to them.
