Kimberley Process certificate
Also called: KPCS · Kimberley Process Certification Scheme
An international certification scheme that controls trade in rough diamonds to prevent conflict diamonds from entering the market. Each shipment of rough diamonds between participants must be in a tamper-resistant container with a certificate issued by the exporting participant.
In practice
Rough diamonds arriving without a valid Kimberley certificate, or from a non-participant, cannot be cleared.
