Import licence

Also called: import permit · ithalat lisansı · izin belgesi

An authorisation from a government agency required before or at import for specific goods, for reasons such as health, security, quotas or trade policy. Licences are linked to the declaration and may be checked electronically through single-window systems.

In practice

Goods arriving without a required licence are held at the importer's cost, so licensing lead times must be part of planning.
