Import surveillance (gözetim)

Also called: gözetim · surveillance · gözetim belgesi

A system in which imports of certain products are monitored, sometimes with a requirement to obtain a document before import. In Türkiye, surveillance under the Ministry of Trade's decisions often applies a unit value threshold per kilogram or per piece; imports below it need a surveillance certificate. The EU also uses prior surveillance for some products such as steel.

In practice

Low-priced imports into Türkiye can be stopped until the surveillance document is obtained, so the declared unit price should be compared with the threshold in advance.
