About the New Zealand tariff

The Working Tariff Document of New Zealand sets out the Tariff of the Customs and Excise Act 2018. Codes have 10 digits: an 8-digit tariff item and a 2-digit statistical key. Descriptions are in English, abbreviated as New Zealand Customs publishes them.

The page shows the normal (MFN) rate and some 25 preferential tariffs, for example for Australia, the CPTPP and RCEP partners, the UK, the EU, China, Korea, least developed countries and Pacific countries. Trade remedies, quotas and GST are not included. The New Zealand Customs Service publishes the file every night under CC BY 4.0 NZ.
