About the Canada tariff

The Customs Tariff is the schedule to Canada’s Customs Tariff Act, published in English and French by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). Codes have 10 digits: the 8-digit tariff item, which carries the rates, and a 2-digit statistical suffix (8471.30.00.00, for example).

The page shows the most-favoured-nation (MFN) rate and some twenty preferential tariff treatments, among them the General Preferential Tariff, the Least Developed Country Tariff and the rates under CUSMA, CETA and the CPTPP. Anti-dumping and other trade remedies, quotas and GST are not covered. The CBSA amends the tariff several times a year (T2026, T2026-1, T2026-2); its online version is not the official one.
