Windsor Framework
Also called: Northern Ireland Protocol · UK Internal Market Scheme · green lane
The 2023 agreement between the UK and EU adjusting the Northern Ireland Protocol. It created a green lane for goods moving from Great Britain to Northern Ireland that are not at risk of entering the EU, under the UK Internal Market Scheme, while goods at risk follow EU customs rules.
In practice
Shipments to Northern Ireland may need an XI EORI number and scheme authorisation to benefit from simplified movements.
