UK Global Tariff
Also called: UKGT
The United Kingdom's own MFN tariff, applied since 1 January 2021 after the UK left the EU customs union. It uses UK commodity codes and simplified rates compared with the EU tariff, and works alongside UK preferential agreements, tariff quotas and suspensions.
In practice
UK rates differ from EU rates on many lines, so landed-cost calculations cannot reuse EU duty figures for goods entering Great Britain.
