EORI number
Also called: EORI · Economic Operators Registration and Identification
A unique identifier for businesses and persons dealing with customs in the EU, issued by the member state where they are established, or by the first member state in which non-EU operators lodge a declaration. The UK issues GB EORI numbers, and Northern Ireland traders may need an XI number. Türkiye identifies traders by tax number instead.
In practice
Without an EORI number no declaration can be lodged in the EU or UK, which is often the first obstacle for new foreign sellers.
