Cumulation of origin
Also called: cumulation · bilateral cumulation · diagonal cumulation · full cumulation · kümülasyon
A rule that lets materials originating in a partner country, or in other countries linked by the same rules, be treated as originating in the country of final production. Bilateral cumulation covers the two parties, diagonal cumulation extends it to a group of countries with identical rules, and full cumulation also counts processing that did not itself confer origin.
In practice
Cumulation allows regional supply chains, for example in the Pan-Euro-Mediterranean zone, to keep preferential status despite cross-border inputs.
