Documentary check
Also called: document control · belge kontrolü
A customs control limited to examining the declaration and its supporting documents, such as invoices, certificates and licences, without inspecting the goods. Many systems route declarations to a documentary check when risk is moderate.
In practice
Making supporting documents available electronically and in good order is the simplest way to clear documentary checks quickly.
