Physical examination

Also called: physical inspection · fiziki muayene

A customs control in which officers examine the goods themselves, checking quantity, description, classification, origin marks or condition, and sometimes taking samples. It is ordered on the basis of risk analysis or random selection and may be done at the border or at an approved place.

In practice

Examinations add cost and delay, so packing lists that match the cartons and marks make them faster.
