Statistical value
Also called: statistical value of goods
The value of goods recorded for trade statistics, normally based on the customs value adjusted to the border of the reporting country, for example including transport costs up to that border. It is reported in the declaration even where no duty is payable.
In practice
Errors in statistical value do not change duty, but they can draw attention from customs and statistics authorities.
