UFLPA

Also called: Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act

A US law in force since June 2022 creating a rebuttable presumption that goods made wholly or partly in the Xinjiang region of China, or by entities on the UFLPA Entity List, are made with forced labour and barred from import. Importers can only overcome the presumption with clear and convincing evidence.

In practice

CBP detains goods such as cotton, solar components and electronics until full supply chain tracing is provided, so sourcing documentation must reach raw materials.
