Foreign-trade zone admission
Also called: FTZ admission · CBP Form 214
The process of bringing goods into a US foreign-trade zone, requested on CBP Form 214 or electronically, after which they are treated as outside US customs territory for duty purposes. Goods may be stored, manipulated or manufactured in the zone, and duty is paid only when they enter US commerce.
In practice
The status chosen at admission determines how duty will be calculated when goods later leave the zone.
