Accounting segregation

Also called: inventory management method

A method allowed under many preferential agreements for managing stocks of originating and non-originating materials that are identical and interchangeable without storing them physically apart. Records must show that no more goods are treated as originating than physical separation would have produced.

In practice

Accounting segregation helps manufacturers with mixed stocks of the same input, but customs may require an authorisation and strict records.
