Additional financial obligation (EMY)

Also called: Ek Mali Yükümlülük · EMY

A Turkish import charge set by decree for certain goods, expressed as a fixed amount per unit or a percentage, and collected in addition to customs duty and İGV. It has been used for products such as some vehicles and consumer goods to protect domestic production or for policy reasons.

In practice

Because it is set outside the tariff schedule, EMY is easy to overlook in landed-cost estimates for Türkiye.
