Amendment of a declaration
Also called: correction of declaration · düzeltme
A change to one or more particulars of a declaration after it has been accepted, made at the declarant's request. Amendment is normally not allowed once customs has announced an examination, found the data incorrect or released the goods, although later corrections are possible in some cases.
In practice
Spotting an error before an examination is notified gives the declarant the easiest way to fix it without penalties.
