Anti-absorption investigation
Also called: absorption reinvestigation
An EU investigation into whether exporters have absorbed an anti-dumping or countervailing duty by lowering export prices, so that resale prices in the Union have not risen as expected. If absorption is found, the duty can be increased.
In practice
Lowering prices to offset a duty can lead to a higher duty rate, so pricing strategies after measures should be considered carefully.
