Also called: buyer-supplied inputs

Goods or services supplied free or at reduced cost by the buyer for use in producing the imported goods, such as moulds, tools, components or engineering work done abroad. Their value must be added to the customs value, apportioned over the goods produced.

In practice

Tooling sent to a supplier is easy to forget years later, but it should be captured when the goods it helps produce are imported.
