CBP Form 29 (Notice of Action)
Also called: CF-29 · notice of action
A notice by which CBP informs an importer that it proposes to change, or has changed, the classification, value, rate of duty or other entry data, often after a CF-28 inquiry. A proposed action gives the importer a chance to respond before liquidation.
In practice
Responding promptly to a proposed CF-29 can prevent an unfavourable liquidation that would otherwise need a protest.
