Certificate of origin
Also called: non-preferential certificate of origin · menşe şahadetnamesi
A document certifying the non-preferential origin of goods, usually issued by chambers of commerce. It is required by some importing countries, by letters of credit or for goods subject to quotas, sanctions or trade remedies. It does not by itself give any duty preference.
In practice
Buyers often ask for it out of habit, but it should not be confused with the preferential proofs needed to claim reduced duty.
