CPD carnet
Also called: Carnet de Passages en Douane · triptyque
An international customs document for the temporary admission of private motor vehicles, issued by automobile clubs that act as guarantors. It lets travellers drive their own vehicle through countries that require it without paying a deposit at each border.
In practice
If the vehicle is not re-exported, the issuing club pays the duties and recovers them from the holder.
