Entry price system

Also called: EPS

An EU arrangement for certain fresh fruit and vegetables in which the duty depends on the declared entry price of each consignment compared with trigger prices. If the price falls below the threshold, a specific duty is added on top of the ad valorem duty.

In practice

Fresh produce importers may face extra duty after clearance if the declared price is not later confirmed by sales, so price documentation must be kept.
