Compound duty
Also called: mixed duty · combined duty
A duty combining an ad valorem and a specific element, for example a percentage plus an amount per 100 kg, sometimes with a minimum or maximum. EU agricultural and processed-food tariffs often take this form.
In practice
Comparing duty across suppliers or origins requires calculating the actual amount, since the headline percentage is only part of the charge.
