GSP
Also called: Generalised Scheme of Preferences · Genelleştirilmiş Tercihler Sistemi
A unilateral scheme under which developed countries grant reduced or zero duties to imports from developing countries. The EU GSP has a standard arrangement, GSP+ and Everything But Arms; the current EU regulation has been extended to the end of 2027 pending a new framework. The US GSP programme expired in 2020 and has not been renewed. Türkiye applies its own GSP aligned with the EU.
In practice
GSP origin is usually proven through REX statements, and graduation can remove the benefit for specific product sections from one country.
