ISPM 15
Also called: wood packaging standard · ISPM 15 mark
The international phytosanitary standard requiring wood packaging material, such as pallets and crates, to be heat-treated or fumigated and marked with an approved stamp to prevent the spread of pests. Most countries enforce it at import, and non-compliant packaging can be treated, destroyed or sent back.
In practice
Even goods that need no phytosanitary certificate can be held because their pallets lack the ISPM 15 mark.
