Autonomous tariff quota
Also called: ATQ
A tariff quota opened unilaterally by the EU, rather than under a trade agreement, to allow a limited volume of a product not sufficiently available in the Union to be imported at reduced or zero duty. Like autonomous suspensions, ATQs are reviewed periodically and listed by CN and TARIC code.
In practice
ATQs often run out early in the year, so manufacturers relying on them should monitor the remaining balance.
