Electronic Export Information

Also called: EEI · AES filing · AESDirect

The export data filed through ACE (the US Automated Export System) for shipments leaving the US, generally required when the value per Schedule B number exceeds USD 2,500 or when an export licence is needed, and in some other cases. The filing produces an internal transaction number that is shown on transport documents.

In practice

Missing or late EEI filings can lead to penalties under the Foreign Trade Regulations, even when no licence was needed.
