Entry summary declaration
Also called: ENS · özet beyan
A pre-arrival safety and security declaration giving customs information on goods before they arrive, used for risk analysis. In the EU it is lodged in ICS2 by carriers and, in some cases, other parties, within deadlines that depend on transport mode. Türkiye and the UK have equivalent requirements.
In practice
Shipments can be refused loading or held at arrival if the ENS is missing or the goods description is too vague, such as just saying parts or gifts.
