Ex-works price (origin)
Also called: EXW price
In EU-style origin rules, the price paid for the product to the manufacturer in whose undertaking the last working or processing was carried out, including the value of all materials used and minus internal taxes refunded on export. It is the reference for value-based rules limiting non-originating materials.
In practice
Using the commercial selling price instead of the true ex-works price can distort percentage calculations in either direction.
