HS edition

Also called: HS 2022 · HS 2028 · HS amendment

The Harmonized System is revised roughly every five years to reflect new products, technology and trade patterns. HS 2022 has applied since 1 January 2022, and the next edition, HS 2028, is scheduled to enter into force on 1 January 2028. Each edition moves, splits or deletes codes, so national tariffs are updated at the same time.

In practice

Product master data, BTI rulings and supplier declarations tied to old codes must be re-mapped when a new edition takes effect, or declarations will be rejected or misclassified.
