CN code

Also called: Combined Nomenclature · KN

The eight-digit code of the EU Combined Nomenclature, which adds two digits to the HS code for customs duty and external trade statistics. The CN is set out in Annex I to Council Regulation (EEC) No 2658/87 and is republished every year, normally in October, to apply from 1 January of the following year.

In practice

The CN code fixes the conventional EU duty and is the code used in Intrastat and export declarations, so it must be checked against each year's new version.

Applies to: EU
