Minimum import price
Also called: MIP
A form of trade remedy in which duty is due only on the difference between a set minimum price and the declared import price when the latter is lower. It is used in some EU anti-dumping measures and resembles the entry price system for certain agricultural products.
In practice
Under an MIP, invoice price manipulation is a key risk, so customs scrutinises related costs and rebates closely.
