REACH
Also called: Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 · chemical registration
The EU regulation on the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals. Importers of substances on their own, in mixtures or in some articles must register them with the European Chemicals Agency if they bring in one tonne or more per year, and restricted substances in articles must comply with Annex XVII limits.
In practice
Customs may stop imports of articles that breach REACH restrictions, so importers need supplier data on substances of concern.
