Common Transit Convention
Also called: CTC · Ortak Transit Sözleşmesi
An agreement extending the EU transit procedure to EFTA countries, Türkiye, North Macedonia, Serbia, Ukraine, Georgia and the UK, among others. It allows a single transit declaration and guarantee for movements across all contracting parties. Türkiye joined in 2012 and the UK remained a party after leaving the EU.
In practice
Road freight between Türkiye, the EU and the UK can move on one transit document instead of clearing at each border.
