Mutual recognition agreement (AEO)
Also called: MRA · karşılıklı tanıma
An agreement between customs administrations under which each recognises the other's trusted trader programme, such as AEO, CTPAT or the Turkish YYS, as equivalent. Members typically benefit from lower risk scores and fewer checks in the partner country.
In practice
An MRA only helps if the partner's identifiers, such as EORI or MID numbers, are exchanged correctly in the filings.
