Statement on origin

Also called: origin declaration · invoice declaration · menşe beyanı

A text placed on an invoice or other commercial document by the exporter declaring that the goods meet preferential origin rules. Depending on the agreement it may be made by any exporter for low values, by an approved exporter, or by an exporter registered in REX. Its exact wording is set in the agreement.

In practice

Wording copied from the wrong agreement or missing the exporter reference is a common reason for preferences being refused.
